Lexus celebrates 50,000 local sales of NX luxury SUV
Lexus Australia is celebrating a significant local milestone, delivering its 50,000th NX luxury SUV during August. The milestone sale was an NX 450h+ purchased in Sydney.
Since launching in Australia in 2014, the NX quickly became Australia’s favourite luxury medium SUV and has been Lexus Australia’s best-selling model for every year since its introduction.
The popularity of the NX extends beyond Australia, with more than one million examples sold globally since its debut.
Lexus Australia Chief Executive Jack Hobbs said the NX’s enduring popularity with Australian families has made it one of the brand’s most significant successes locally.
“Few models have shaped the Lexus story in Australia quite like the NX, and we are delighted to celebrate the fact that 50,000 customers have now chosen it,” Mr Hobbs said.
“This achievement reflects the strong affinity Australian customers have for the NX and its ability to bring together craftsmanship, comfort, performance and efficiency in a way that enriches everyday life.
“For many Australians, the NX has been their first Lexus, helping introduce a new generation of customers to the Lexus ownership experience. Beyond the vehicle itself, that experience is shaped by every interaction with our brand, from the benefits of our Encore ownership offering to the support of our 31 Lexus dealerships nationwide1.
“This dealer network is backed by extensive technical training, ensuring customers receive expert care throughout their ownership journey, while a comprehensive parts supply network supported by five warehouses across Australia helps provide timely service and maintenance support.
“Together, these elements deliver the care, convenience and peace of mind that embody the attention to detail and hospitality synonymous with Lexus.”
The NX has also played a pivotal role in the Lexus electrification journey in Australia. Since its launch, customers have been offered the Luxury of Choice through hybrid and turbocharged petrol powertrains, while the second-generation NX becoming the first Lexus model to offer a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) option.
This leadership in electrification builds on the brands long-standing expertise in advanced powertrain technology, with 20 years of proven experience in Australia.
Looking ahead, Lexus Australia will introduce the next evolution of the NX range in 2027. Building on the strong legacy established by the nameplate, the NX will continue to be a compelling option for luxury SUV buyers.
